Milk is a wonderful note to build a perfume around. It doesn't have a particularly strong smell of its own. What we remember is what it does to everything around it.
A spoonful of condensed milk turns strong, bitter tea into something thick and silky. Cinnamon rises with the steam. Cardamom cracks open. The entire kitchen smells warmer than it did a minute ago.
Island Milk is an exploration of that transformation.
The cashew milk accord gives the fragrance a creamy, almost velvety quality. But rather than making it sweeter, we introduced the dry heat of cinnamon bark, black pepper, ginger, and cardamom. Brown sugar softens the sharp edges without turning the composition into dessert.
Then something interesting happens. As the spice settles, sandalwood and tonka emerge beneath a cloud of whipped musk. The milk becomes less of a flavor and more of a texture. Something that feels like warm skin, soft wood, and the last sip of tea at the bottom of a cup.
The idea was to give milk a backbone. A sense of place. Something familiar, made unexpectedly complex.
